The Cabin
All of the daily flyout trips
are
based out
of our comfortable cabin located 10 miles north of Nome on the Snake
River.
It has four single beds and a futon, comfortably sleeping six
people. The cabin is equipped with a full kitchen including a
propane range and refrigerator, and an oil drip stove for heat. It
is plumbed with running well water for the kitchen sink and a hot shower.
The wood-fired hot tub is a great place to relax in the evening.
Lots of deck area allows for quality outdoor time with nice views up and
down the Snake River valley. The cabin has a half-loft for sleeping,
which also affords nice views of the scenery. Your guides will be
around to make sure that you are comfortable and to prepare three meals a
day for you. All in all, it's a great place to
enjoy the peace and quiet of Alaska.
Float Trip
If you opt for a float trip, we will begin and end the trip
at the cabin, but will be camping in tents for all nights on the rivers.
We use quality 4-person tents to sleep each two
people, leaving extra room for gear inside at night. These are
lightweight tents that
can fit in the helicopter for drop off, and also won’t take up much room
in our
inflatable canoes. We will set up camps on gravel/sand bars,
and
on tundra.
Twin Peaks Adventures
will provide all the camping gear to be comfortable. Make sure you
bring a warm
sleeping bag, rated at least to 20 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. We will
provide you with a lightweight, pack able sleeping pad if you do not have
one.
Due to weight restrictions in the light helicopters, you will be given a
dry bag at the beginning of the trip. All your personal gear must
fit into the bag. Water filtration
bottles, pumps, stove, table, cooking and eating utensils, etc, are all
provided.
